Ian Evans, Warehouse Operative

We asked Ian some questions to give you an insight into who Ian is and his role at Solmedia, read his answers below to find out more.

Who is Ian Evans?

I am a proud dad of two and a family-oriented guy who loves spending time with his family, so much so I actually work with my brother.  I am the older brother of Neil Evans (the Warehouse Manager at Solmedia) and I have enjoyed working alongside Neil for over 10 years! I don’t take myself too seriously and will most likely be found, a lot of the time, winding up my colleagues.

What is your Role at Solmedia?

My role at Solmedia is a Warehouse Operative and I work as part of a big team operating the warehouse. I am responsible for many tasks within the warehouse including picking orders correctly and accurately, ensuring products are packaged up safely and booking deliveries/goods in. You will also find me on “Freddy” the fork-lift as I am responsible for loading and unloading products from suppliers and taking stock counts.

What do you enjoy most about working at Solmedia?

Having around 10 years of experience, I believe I know the company inside and out and have a wealth of product knowledge. I enjoy being able to use this experience to solve problems in the warehouse. I also enjoy being able to share my knowledge with the rest of the team, working as a bigger team to achieve 99.9% picking accuracy regularly.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I have a passion for darts. You will mostly find me playing darts in the local leagues as well as playing County darts for the Salopians.

A fun fact about Ian? 

 I successfully ran just under 4 miles on Barmouth Beach in just under a 1 hour for charity. I did this after only 9 weeks of training and having not ran for around 20 years!
