Following our success in 2023, Solmedia headed back to the ICC in Birmingham for three days of scientific innovation at this year’s IBMS Congress, meeting those working in the cutting-edge sector. This year, spanning two balcony stands, Solmedia showcased more equipment and consumables than ever. From microscope slides to grossing stations, both stands engaged professionals with an extensive range of products, covering multiple disciplines and backed by a wealth of knowledge from the Solmedia team.
New for this year, the ET-107-ELV Height Adjustable Grossing Station, from AnatHomic Solutions, drew attendees in with its onboard macro camera sharing live view images. The rare opportunity to see the unit in person enabled attendees to view its ease of operation controls and extensive range of optional extras, while live demonstrations showcased its height adjustability function and safety features. And with AnatHomic’s Viviana Restovic Águila on-hand to delve into specifics, no query went unanswered!
Well-known and trusted manufacturer, SLEE, always draws the crowds with their German engineered histology equipment. Unveiled only this year, we were delighted to debut SLEE’s new 5062+ semi-automatic microtome. In addition to their microtome range, our stand featured SLEE’s market leading linear stainer, the Cromatec, and a firm favourite from our previous Congress event, their ergonomic, height-adjustable and fully customisable Ergotec table. Marketing Director at SLEE, Alexander Benjamin, joined us for the event, sharing invaluable insight into each piece of equipment.
Alexander said: “This is an event we always look forward to. As a representative from SLEE it provides the perfect platform for us to share insights and opportunities to help teams optimise their lab workflows. Engagement from visitors is always high, with real interest in talking histology and future innovation.”
Echoing Alexander’s words Solmedia Ltd Director, Nick Wallach, added: “Preparations for this event have been underway for some time, but seeing both stands in action, buzzing with conversation, we can confidently say our biggest event has been a success. We look forward to keeping those conversations going beyond the ICC Hall.”
While larger equipment pieces took centre stage, our range of consumables and printers didn’t go unnoticed. Complementing our range of TOMO slides, the ESPO II printer gained plenty of attention with its small footprint but high print capabilities – making it the ideal companion for any sized workbench. Our range of safety items, including SafeTread Matting and Vaportest Air Monitoring Badges, both sparked conversation around lab safety and the growing requirements to meet and adhere to stringent safety standards.
While plenty of discussions and demonstrations took place over the three days, this is just the start of many exciting conversations. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
