Using Tissue Tampers:
Pre-warm the Tamper:
Warming the tissue tamper slightly can prevent the embedding medium (e.g. paraffin wax) from cooling too quickly and sticking to the tool causing objects to form in the block.
Pressure:
Apply light, even pressure to avoid distorting or damaging delicate tissues.
Cleanliness:
Clean the tissue tamper after use to prevent cross-contamination between samples and remove any wax residue.
Orientation:
Combine with good knowledge of tissue anatomy to orient the sample in the mold for optimal sectioning.
