How to Use Ink Aid
- Ink is applied to the tissue surface
- Ink Aid (acetic acid solution) is sprayed
- The acid:
-
- Alters protein structure at the tissue surface
- Coagulates or “fixes” the dye pigment
- Enhances adhesion between dye and tissue proteins
This results in the dye becoming more resistant to:
-
- Formalin fixation
- Alcohol dehydration
- Clearing agents and paraffin processing
Practically, this prevents the ink from washing off or diffusing during processing.
Product instructions key note
Spray 1–2 times onto inked tissue to “set/bond the dye”
