Nick Wallach, Director of Solmedia, explains more fully, ‘because we already have established supply chains throughout the world, we are in an excellent position to be able to source things quickly and effectively. Previously a specialist supplier of pathology equipment and supplies, we’re now branching out to support the NHS by procuring a wide range of necessary supplies in the most cost-effective way.’
As a result, Solmedia has diverted most of its attention to supplying critical care units and microbiology testing labs with sample kits for testing, hand-cleanser, general medical equipment, personal protective clothing and even, sadly, mortuary items.
What’s the key in being able to achieve this nimble turnaround? It is due in no small measure to the excellent personal relationships the sales team has with their contacts in the NHS supply chain, as well as a formidable purchasing team and great customer service. Although Solmedia staff are now working remotely, with the exception of the vital warehouse team, the interconnection between the group, forged in happier times, means that they don’t need to be in close proximity to work together effectively.
